Apon entering the pack territory, Taraska had been met by Alpha Logan. She hadn't really liked him much. But she supposed that was a given. Wolves aren't supposed to like their Alphas, right..? she thought unreassuringly to herself. Sighing, she thrust herself down along the track. She supposed it was cold, but she didn't really mind. She had lived near the north all of her life.
Suddenly, a large snap issued from the ground beneath her. Yelping upwards (being very timid), she jumped to the side. Getting sheepishly back up, she realised it was just a branch crackling, although it had made a peculiar sound..
It's the frost, silly! she thought to herself. Leaping back onto the branches, she enjoyed making the strange sounds with the frosty branches. Taraska was often described as shy and quiet, but deep down she loved having fun when she was alone.
Soon she could perform several tricks by flicking the twigs into the air and then leaping to snap them in her jaws.
Yes, Taraska was a strange wolf indeed.

Having ventured forward, Lyra continued forwards at a steady but quick pace, with the snow and frost crunching loudly beneath her paws. As she was somewhat unused to the area, she was cautious, but she was more excited than anything else now- her vitality had surged back.
As she continued through the branches she heard several snapping noises, and jumped back a little. After a moment, they continued, though they weren't scuffling noises as she had expected. Her curiosity getting the better of her, she inched forward as quitely as she could, a little at a time.
Seeing Taraska, she was surprised- but she supposed she shouldn't have been, really, should she?
ooc; Sorry, writers block on how to start their 'into'' so to speak.

' Oh! '
Taraska exclaimed in surprise as the sight of Lyra became clear. She hadn't expected to see anyone all the way down in the old Forest.. Logan had said she was the first newcomer. There must be more! she thought excitedly. She bowed respectively towards the fellow female.
' I'm.. Taraska, a scout. Who're you? '
She asked politely, smiling. Deep down Taraska was very shy when it came to socialising with other wolves. A long blackish brown swished at her rear. It was times like these she was glad for her heat-attracting coat; arctics could have their white heat absorbers, but Taraska was happy how she was. It made summer a pain, though.
' Are you new to the pack too? I haven't seen you around before. '

Still blinking a little, Lyra responded after a moment.
'..Yes, I'm Lyra- A hunter.'
She walked a little closer as she said this, looking at the wolf- she was a grey, she noted, though that certainly wasn't the only colour she was. She smiled back at the wolf, glad to have found someone- she had found the forest to be a little uncomfortable a place to be in, if she was completely honest with herself.
'Sorry if I disturbed you, I heard noises...'

' That's all right, '
She replied brightly. I need to become more open if I want the chance of finding some proper friends, she thought fiercely to herself. She observed Lyra closely; not sharply like Logan, but deeply - interested in what Lyra was like.
' Wow. I'm not so good at hunting. I'm just a lowly scout, '
She added, not in a self-pitying way but more of an acknowledgement. She nodded and looked around. What should I say, Mother? she thought to herself. Frowning, she looked around as if to see her mother somewhere.
